About the project
What is the "DIDO" project?
The COVID-19 pandemic and the changes it entailed affected most areas related to our daily lives. Isolation, fear, uncertainty, economic upheaval, strain mental health and worsen the situation of people who were already suffering from mental health problems.
As the demand for mental health services increases, there is an urgent need for public awareness and information on mental health and the rights of recipients of mental health services, as well as cooperation between different entities active in the field.
This exactly is the aim of the “DIDO” project. To raise awareness of issues related to the protection of the rights of recipients of mental health services, to mitigate discriminatory discourse and prejudice and to encourage the development of new initiatives to protect the rights of recipients of mental health services and their families.
The objective will be achieved by training, raising awareness and informing civil servants, mental health professionals, members of the school community and media professionals on mental health issues. Furthermore, communication and consultation channels will be developed to enhance cooperation between relevant organisations and the media and to inform and raise public awareness.
